Bridging Brighter Smiles, a nonprofit organization, is seeking a dedicated Dental Therapist to join our school-based program in Wisconsin. This is a unique opportunity to work in a supportive, mission-driven environment focused on improving the oral health of children and families.

As a member of our dynamic team, you'll provide clinical dental services within the scope of Wisconsin dental regulations, under the supervision of a dentist, and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. In addition to offering dental care, you'll play a key role in community outreach and education, helping to create lasting health improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide dental treatment and preventive services under the general supervision of a dentist.
• Recognize signs of gum disease and dental concerns and provide appropriate care.
• Educate patients about their oral health and options for improving and maintaining it.
• Efficiently manage treatment time and collaborate with the dental team to ensure the best care.
• Work with dentists and dental hygienists to plan and evaluate clinical services, including prevention programs.
• Serve patients of all ages and contribute to outreach services in local schools and communities.
• Attend community events to promote oral health and disease prevention.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to organization policies.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and colleagues.
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain a good attendance record and be available to take on additional tasks as needed.

Physical & Mental Demands:
• Ability to walk, talk, hear, and use hands to handle, feel, or operate tools and equipment.
• Vision required for close work and the ability to adjust focus.
• May be required to lift up to 40 pounds and assist with patient mobility.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be able to travel locally for outreach and community events.

Working Environment:
• Moderate noise levels with occasional interruptions.
• Work may be required in various settings, including schools, mobile dental clinics, and outreach locations.
• Participation in meetings, conferences, and community events is part of the role.

Qualifications:

Educational and Licensing Requirements:
• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Dental Therapy Education: Completion of a CODA-accredited Dental Therapy program, which includes clinical training and coursework covering preventive and therapeutic dental procedures.
• Licensing: Must hold a valid Wisconsin Dental Therapist license (or be eligible to obtain one upon hire).
• Must have completed 2000 hours of work under direct supervision to allow for general supervision.
• If licensed in another state, candidates must have completed the necessary steps to obtain licensure in Wisconsin as a Dental Therapist.

Post-Graduate & Certification Requirements:
• CPR Certification: Current CPR certification is required
• Experience: While prior experience in a clinical setting is beneficial, new graduates are welcome to apply if they have completed the required educational and clinical training. Driver’s License & Transportation: A valid driver’s license
• Communication Skills: Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, and staff.
• Safety-Sensitive Position: This is a safety-sensitive position. A background check is mandatory.

Compensation to be determined based on working arrangement.
